25 LC 112 3472 House Resolution 733 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63rd, Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, Tran of the 80th, and Carter of the 93rd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dana Fowle for her outstanding contributions to journalism1 and the community; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Dana Fowle is an Emmy Award-winning journalist whose i nvestigative3 reporting has significantly impacted the lives of Georgia's citizens; and4 WHEREAS, Dana Fowle joined FOX 5 Atlanta in 1995 as a general assignment reporter, and5 in August 1999, she became the Consumer Reporter for the FOX 5 I-Team, where she has6 consistently delivered in-depth investigations that have led to meaningful change; and7 WHEREAS, her investigative work on Georgia's child-welfare system played a pivotal role8 in prompting changes to state child-care laws and the reorganization of top management at9 the Department of Family and Children's Services, demonstrating her commitment to the10 well-being of Georgia's children and families; and11 WHEREAS, Dana's journalistic integrity and dedication to consumer advocacy have led her12 to cover a wide range of topics, including health, finance, environmental concerns, fraud, and13 various consumer protection issues, all of which have empowered and educated the public;14 and15 H. R. 733 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3472 WHEREAS, in addition to her journalism career, Dana is an excep tional storyteller,16 consultant, pet food business owner, and community organizer, f urther demonstrating her17 passion for service and leadership beyond the newsroom; and18 WHEREAS, over the past two decades at WAGA-TV, Dana has receive d nearly a dozen19 Emmy Awards, a testament to her excellence in investigative jou rnalism and consumer20 reporting; and21 WHEREAS, Dana Fowle's unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and public service has22 made a lasting impact on the State of Georgia and beyond, and s he continues to be an23 invaluable asset to the field of journalism and the broader community.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Dana Fowle for h er exemplary26 contributions to investigative journalism and consumer advocacy , applaud her for the27 positive change she has fostered through her reporting, and extend their sincere best wishes28 for continued success in all her endeavors.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dana31 Fowle.32 H.
