25 LC 129 0255 House Resolution 791 By: Representatives Dempsey of the 13th, Lumsden of the 12th, and Barton of the 5th A RESOLUTION Commending Sophia Dubs, Unity Christian School's 2025 STAR Stud ent; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, a gifted student at Unity Christian School, Sophia Dub s has been recognized3 for her superlative achievement and selected as Unity Christian School's 2025 STAR4 Student; and5 WHEREAS, to be selected as a STAR Student, a student must have obtained the highest6 score in one administration of the three-part Scholastic Aptitu de Test and be in the top 107 percent or top ten students of his or her class; and8 WHEREAS, each school has one STAR Student who in turn has the opportunity to choose9 a STAR Teacher who has been inspiring and encouraging throughou t that student's high10 school career; and11 WHEREAS, educator Susan Payne was chosen by Sophia as Unity Christian School's 202512 STAR Teacher for the great support and guidance provided to her throughout the years; and13 H. R. 791 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0255 WHEREAS, Sophia has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,14 and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and15 WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most16 important objective of the General Assembly, and Sophia has sho wn by academic17 accomplishment that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of18 the students in this state; and19 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation tow ard the future of this20 bright and promising young citizen.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body heartily commend Sophia Dubs for being named Unity Christian23 School's 2025 STAR Student and express their most sincere best wishes for continued24 academic success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Represent atives authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to27 Sophia Dubs.28 H.
