25 LC 129 0343 House Resolution 758 By: Representatives Gaines of the 120th and Wiedower of the 121st A RESOLUTION Congratulating the for the North Oconee High School boys basketball team for winning the1 2025 GHSA Class 4A State Basketball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the North Oconee High School boys basketball team has established and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team6 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable7 2025 campaign, the team captured its second consecutive state basketball championship; and8 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2025 GHSA9 Class 4A State Basketball Championship against Pace Academy with a final score of 60 to10 51; and11 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding12 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the13 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Rick14 Rasmussen; and15 H. R. 758 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0343 WHEREAS, this all-star team included starting five Justin Wise, Thrasher Wilkins, Khamari16 Brooks, Blake Bracco, and Banks Pourchier; and17 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by18 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is19 abundantly proper to call them champions.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body congratulate the North Oconee High School boys basketball team22 for winning the 2025 GHSA Class 4A State Basketball Championshi p and extend best23 wishes for their continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26 North Oconee High School boys basketball team..27 H.
