A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Laurie Erwin for her outstanding ded ication and1
accomplishments in golf, including her remarkable achievement of a hole-in-one, and for her2
commitment to inspiring the next generation of leaders; and for other purposes.3
WHEREAS, Laurie Erwin, a proud native of Homer, Georgia, has demonstrated exceptional4
talent, dedication, and passion for the sport of golf; and5
WHEREAS, on June 29, 2024, at Chimney Oaks Golf Club in Homer, Georgia, Laurie Erwin6
achieved the extraordinary feat of a hole-in-one on a distance of 89 yards while using a7
pitching wedge, a testament to her skill and precision; and8
WHEREAS, her accomplishment and enthusiasm were witnessed by he r proud husband,9
Chairman Chris Erwin, Representative of House District 32, marking the moment not only10
as a sporting achievement but also as a cherished family memory; and11
WHEREAS, Laurie Erwin's athletic ability, combined with her unwavering dedication and12
determination to the sport, continues to inspire those around her, showcasing the power of13
perseverance and the joy of the game of golf; and14

WHEREAS, beyond her sporting achievements, Laurie Erwin is deep ly committed to15
inspiring young leaders and dedicating her time to mentoring th e youth of Georgia,16
particularly through the House Page Program, where she actively works to encourage and17
guide young individuals in their pursuit of excellence and leadership; and18
WHEREAS, through her involvement in the House Page Program, Laurie Erwin has played19
a pivotal role in shaping the future of Georgia's youth, imparting the values of responsibility,20
integrity, and civic duty to the next generation of leaders; and21
WHEREAS, Laurie Erwin has become a role model for young athlete s and leaders alike,22
demonstrating the values of hard work, integrity, and service to the community; and23
WHEREAS, Laurie Erwin's contributions to the sport and her community bring great pride24
to the State of Georgia as she sets an example of excellence an d encourages future25
generations of golfers and leaders.26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body recognize and commend Laurie Erwin upo n her exceptional28
achievement for her ongoing contributions to the sport of golf, her community, and the State29
of Georgia as well as her commitment to shaping and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow.30
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to32
Laurie Erwin.33
