25 LC 112 3288 House Resolution 828 By: Representatives Martin of the 49th, Jones of the 47th, Cox of the 28th, Hilton of the 48th, and Reeves of the 99th A RESOLUTION Commending Yoel Glover, Vincent Nnanna, Luke Roner, and Joseph Williams of Alpharetta1 High School for winning the 2024 GHSA 6A Individual Track and Field State Championship2 in the 4x400-meter relay; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, Yoel Glover, a senior; Vincent Nnanna, a junior; Luke Roner, a sophomore; and4 Joseph Williams, a junior at Alpharetta High School, have estab lished and maintained a5 proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and6 WHEREAS, these superlative athletes have completed a triumphant season of track7 competition that included several prestigious invitationals and meets; and8 WHEREAS, excellent skill, superior fitness, and extraordinary r esilience made Yoel,9 Vincent, Joseph, and Luke spectacular runners to observe throug hout the season, and as a10 fitting finale to their remarkable 2024 campaign, they captured the state championship in the11 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:16.57, becoming the first state champions in the event at12 Alpharetta High School since 2021; and13 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of these four young runners is a clear indication14 of their outstanding athletic ability, dedication, and hard work, as well as their fighting spirit,15 H. R. 828 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3288 superb discipline, and commitment to track, guided by the astute direction of Head Coach16 AJ Merine; and17 WHEREAS, as these outstanding athletes earned their well-deserv ed reputation for18 excellence by performing with confidence, grit, and precision o ver months of training,19 conditioning, and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend Yoel Glover, Vincent Nnanna, Luke Roner, and Joseph22 Williams of Alpharetta High School for winning the 2024 GHSA 6A Individual Track and23 Field State Championship in the 4x400-meter relay and extend the most sincere best wishes24 for continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Yoel27 Glover, Vincent Nnanna, Luke Roner, and Joseph Williams.28 H.
