25 LC 129 0404 House Resolution 808 By: Representatives Carter of the 93rd, Bennett of the 94th, and Stinson of the 150th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Denise Williams; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, March is celebrated as Women's History Month, a time to honor and recognize2 the invaluable impact of women throughout history and across all fields and trades; and3 WHEREAS, Denise William's contributions to the community reflec t the core values of4 Women's History Month; and5 6 WHEREAS, Denise is a dedicated community advocate and experienced electrician with 307 years in the trade; and8 WHEREAS, her deep-rooted commitment to her community is evident in her extensive civic9 engagement and advocacy efforts; and10 WHEREAS, Denise has championed numerous issues, including fight ing against high11 electric bills in the city and assisting senior citizens with h ome repairs through the ARAP12 program; and 13 H. R. 808 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0404 WHEREAS, she has actively worked on various political campaigns , striving to bring14 positive change to Newton County; and15 WHEREAS, her commitment to transparency and citizen engagement is demonstrated by her16 consistent presence at City Council meetings, Board of Commissioners meetings, Board of17 Education meetings, SPLOST meetings, and JDA meetings, ensuring residents stay informed18 about critical county decisions; and19 WHEREAS, in 2024, Denise was honored with the Presidential Life time Achievement20 Award, a testament to her passion for community development and strong sense of integrity;21 and 22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng contributions of this23 remarkable woman are recognized during Women's History Month.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Denise Williams for her unwavering26 dedication to service and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and27 success.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to30 Denise Williams. 31 H.
