25 LC 129 0295 House Resolution 836 By: Representatives Martin of the 49th, Jones of the 47th, Cox of the 28th, and Reeves of the 99th A RESOLUTION Commending the Milton Eagles football team for winning the 2024 GHSA 5A State Football1 Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Milton Eagles football team has established and ma intained a proud3 tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of football5 competition by posting an outstanding, undefeated record of 15 wins and zero losses; and6 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8 2024 campaign, the team captured its third state football champ ionship and seventh9 consecutive region championship; and10 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding11 athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity o f purpose and spirit of each12 member of the team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of13 Head Coach Ben Reaves; and14 H. R. 836 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0295 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by15 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is16 abundantly proper to call them champions.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body commend the Milton Eagles football team for winning the 202419 GHSA 5A State Football Championship and extend their most since r e b e s t w i s h e s f o r20 continued success.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the23 Milton Eagles football team.24 H.
