25 LC 129 0300 House Resolution 786 By: Representatives Dempsey of the 13th, Lumsden of the 12th, and Barton of the 5th A RESOLUTION Commending Karly Nguyen, Rome High School's 2025 STAR Student; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, a gifted student at Rome High School, Karly Nguyen has been recognized for3 her superlative achievement and selected as Rome High School's 2025 STAR Student; and4 WHEREAS, to be selected as a STAR Student, a student must have obtained the highest5 score in one administration of the three-part Scholastic Aptitu de Test and be in the top 106 percent or top ten students of his or her class; and7 WHEREAS, each school has one STAR Student who in turn has the opportunity to choose8 a STAR Teacher who has been inspiring and encouraging throughou t that student's high9 school career; and10 WHEREAS, educator Seth Winstead was chosen by Karly as Rome Hig h School's 202511 STAR Teacher for the great support and guidance provided to her throughout the years; and12 WHEREAS, Karly has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,13 and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and14 H. R. 786 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0300 WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most15 important objective of the General Assembly, and Karly has show n by academic16 accomplishment that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of17 the students in this state; and18 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation tow ard the future of this19 bright and promising young citizen.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body heartily commend Karly Nguyen for bein g named Rome High22 School's 2025 STAR Student and express their most sincere best wishes for continued23 academic success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Represent atives authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Karly26 Nguyen.27 H.
