A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Valerie King; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, March is celebrated as Women's History Month, a time to honor and recognize2
the invaluable contributions of women throughout history and ac ross all fields and trades;3
and4
WHEREAS, Valerie King's contributions to the community reflect the core values of5
Women's History Month; and6
WHEREAS, Valerie is a lifelong caregiver, devoted leader, and woman of deep faith whose7
career and ministry have touched countless lives over the course of five decades; and8
WHEREAS, with nearly 50 years of experience as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor9
and Delivery, Valerie has stood at the front lines of life's mo st sacred beginnings-helping10
usher thousands of babies into the world with skill, compassion, and grace; and11
WHEREAS, her gentle hands and steady presence earned her the tr ust and admiration of12
colleagues, patients, and families alike; and13

WHEREAS, even after retiring from active nursing, Valerie continued to walk in her calling14
to care for others by joining the Student Health Center team at Clark Atlanta University,15
where she brought wisdom, warmth, and encouragement to a new ge neration of students16
navigating the challenges of college life and young adulthood; and17
WHEREAS, she has faithfully served in church ministries in both California and Georgia,18
contributing her gifts in various capacities over the years; and 19
WHEREAS, whether coordinating events, managing records, or lend ing a listening ear,20
Valerie leads with a servant's heart and a quiet strength that uplifts everyone around her; and21
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng contributions of this22
remarkable woman are recognized during Women's History Month.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body recognize and commend Valerie King for her unwavering25
dedication to her community and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health and26
happiness.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to29
Valerie King.30
