25 LC 129 0436 Senate Resolution 502 By: Senators Esteves of the 35th, Halpern of the 39th, Orrock of the 36th, Parent of the 44th, James of the 28th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Henry Carter on winning the GHSA 4A State Literary1 Championship in Domestic and International Extemporaneous Speak ing; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, Henry Carter of Midtown High School earned the top title in the state with his4 win at the GHSA 4A State Literary Championship; and5 WHEREAS, this stellar young man epitomizes the courage, determination, leadership, and6 character necessary to attain excellence in academic prowess and performance; and7 WHEREAS, his months of training and competition have been rewarded with an impressive8 win, and it is appropriate that she holds the title of champion; and9 WHEREAS, Henry's victory was the culmination of a season of hard work, dedication, and10 excellent sportsmanship; and11 WHEREAS, his superior skill, strategy, stamina, and expertise have earned him the respect12 and admiration of his teammates and challengers; and13 S. R. 502 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0436 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the superlati ve abilities of this14 accomplished and gifted student, as well as the pride, honor, and respect he has brought to15 himself, his school, and his community, be appropriately recognized.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body17 recognize and commend Henry Carter on winning the GHSA 4A State Literary18 Championship and extend best wishes for success in the future.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed20 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Henry Carter.21 S.
