25 LC 112 3512 House Resolution 853 By: Representatives Hilton of the 48th, Bonner of the 73rd, Crowe of the 118th, and Camp of the 135th A RESOLUTION Commending the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia)1 and recognizing February 4, 2025, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, founded in 1913 as BOMA-Atlanta, BOMA Georgia is a trade association that4 has supported the commercial real estate industry in Georgia for 112 years; and5 WHEREAS, the commercial real estate industry has grown to curre ntly contribute nearly6 $5.5 billion to Georgia's economy annually while supporting nearly 50,000 jobs in the state;7 and8 WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia members are responsible for the ownership, management, and9 administration of more than 150 million square feet of office space and additional millions10 of square feet of facilities throughout Georgia; and11 WHEREAS, these individuals represent building ownership, profes sional property12 management firms, professional service providers, and contract services across more than13 40 other categories of specialty services, and BOMA Georgia mem bers have been14 H. R. 853 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3512 instrumental in cementing Georgia as a national leader in commercial real estate over the past15 century; and16 WHEREAS, in 2014, BOMA Georgia established the BOMA Georgia Fou ndation, a17 charitable organization contributing to research and education in the commercial real estate18 industry that has increased support of the State of Georgia's role as a cutting-edge leader in19 commercial real estate and business initiatives for nearly a decade; and20 WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia has been recognized nationally for excellence in diversity and21 inclusion; environmental sustainability; education; volunteerism; corporate responsibility;22 and more across its 112-year lifespan; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng accomplishments and24 history of this extraordinary organization be recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body commend the Building Owners and Manage rs Association of27 Georgia upon its 112th anniversary and recognize February 4, 2025, as BOMA Georgia Day28 at the state capitol.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the31 Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia.32 H.
