25 LC 112 3569 House Resolution 848 By: Representatives Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, and Schofield of the 63rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Reverend Dr. Robert C. White Jr.; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Reverend Dr. Robert C. White Jr. on January 13, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Robert C. White Jr. was born on October 9 , 1952, in Atlanta,4 Georgia, a beloved son of Robert C. White Sr. and Dora E. White Johnson; and5 WHEREAS, he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and l iberty with the United6 States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans during a two-year7 tour of duty and later serving as a military police officer wit h the Georgia Army National8 Guard; and9 WHEREAS, following his distinguished military career, he served as a deputy sheriff with10 the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, retiring as a lieutenant af ter 27 years of exemplary11 service; and 12 WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Reverend Dr. Robert C . White Jr. pastored13 numerous churches, including Kaigler's Chapel United Methodist Church, Fairview United14 H. R. 848 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3569 Methodist Church, Alexander United Methodist Church, New Oaklan d City United15 Methodist Church, Clarkston United Methodist Church, Columbia Drive United Methodist16 Church, and New Hope United Methodist Church; and17 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Valerie, and was blessed with18 three remarkable children, Reginald, Brittney, and Courtney, as well as seven wonderful19 grandchildren, Braylon, Brayden, Chloe, Diana, Corbin, Cohen, and Kai Leigh; and20 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern21 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his22 family and friends were admired by others; and23 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation24 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he25 made this world a better place in which to live; and26 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Reverend Dr. Robert C. White Jr. will long27 be remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all28 who had the great fortune of knowing him.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that30 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Reverend Dr. Robert C.31 White Jr. and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the34 family of Reverend Dr. Robert C.
