A RESOLUTION
Congratulating Sarah Paisley Owen; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the Midtown High School girls swim relay team has established and maintained2
a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and3
WHEREAS, the Midtown High School girls swim relay team brought special recognition to4
its school and to Fulton County by winning first place in the 400 Free Relay, breaking the5
school record by an impressive seven seconds with a time of 3:31.75; and6
WHEREAS, this record-breaking relay team included the exception al talents of Rhea7
El-Deiry, Dabney Bond, Katya Tumanova, and Sarah Paisley Owen; and8
WHEREAS, as additional testament to her exemplary performance, Sarah Paisley Owen9
placed first in both the 50 Free and 100 Free events, breaking the state record in the 100 Free10
and now holding state records in both events; and11
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding12
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the13
team; and14

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by15
performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is16
abundantly proper to call them champions.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18
congratulate Sarah Paisley Owen for claiming first place in the 400 Free Relay and for her19
individual achievements in the 50 Free and 100 Free events as well as extend best wishes for20
continued success.21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Sarah Paisley23
Owen.24
