25 LC 129 0453 Senate Resolution 515 By: Senators Orrock of the 36th, Jackson of the 41st, Sims of the 12th, Watson of the 11th, Summers of the 13th and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Larry Wayne Grogan; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Larry Wayne Grogan on March 20, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Larry Wayne Grogan was born on November 27, 1937, in Mitchell County, a4 beloved son of George Hayes Grogan and Ruth Lemacks Grogan; and5 WHEREAS, he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and l iberty with the United6 States Air Force, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans; and 7 WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Larry Wayne Grogan was an active member8 of First Baptist Church of Camilla; and9 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Kay, and was blessed with two10 remarkable children, Paige and Matt, and a wonderful grandchild, Caroline; and11 S. R. 515 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0453 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern12 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his13 family and friends were admired by others; and14 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation15 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he16 made this world a better place in which to live; and17 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Larry Wayne Grogan w ill long be18 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who19 had the great fortune of knowing him.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 join in honoring the life and memory of Larry Wayne Grogan and express their deepest and22 most sincere regret at his passing.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Larry25 Wayne Grogan.26 S.
