A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Chapter 1 of Title 35 of the Code of Georgia Annotated , relating to general1
provisions regarding law enforcement officers and agencies, so as to provide for certain2
federal agents to clearly identify themselves while in the perf ormance of their duties; to3
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5
SECTION 1.6
Chapter 1 of Title 35 of the Code of Georgia Annotated, relatin g to general provisions7
regarding law enforcement officers and agencies, is amended by adding a new Code section8
to read as follows:9
"35-1-24.10
(a) An agent of United States Immigration and the Customs Enfo rcement and United11
States Customs and Border Protection shall, in the performance of his or her duties of12
either such agency, be required to:13
(1) Wear a name badge, patch, or other clearly visible insigni a that identifies the14
individual agent; and15
(2) Wear a uniform that clearly identifies the agency the to which the agent is affiliated.16

(b) Any vehicle operated in the performance of duties by any a gent provided for in17
subsection (a) of this Code section shall be appropriately mark ed in a way that clearly18
identifies the agency to which any such agent or group of agents is affiliated."19
SECTION 2.20
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.21
