25 LC 129 0420 House Resolution 874 By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, Barrett of the 24th, Jasperse of the 11th, McDonald III of the 26th, Clark of the 100th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Denmark High School boys cross country team for winning the 20241 GHSA Class 6A State Cross Country Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Denmark High School boys cross country team has es tablished and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team6 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable7 2024 campaign, the team captured the state cross country championship; and8 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding9 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the10 team, and the astute direction of Head Coach Andrew Hudson; and11 WHEREAS, this all-star team included seniors Ethan Bridge, Evan Ashley, Quincy12 Anderson, Zach Hilyer, Aidan Hicks, Jacob Stevens, and Connor K azemi; junior Akshay13 Sogarwal; sophomores Jacob Grant and Ranel Lopez ; and freshmen Justin Cook and Gentry14 Anderson; and15 H. R. 874 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0420 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by16 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is17 abundantly proper to call them champions.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body congratulate the Denmark High School boys cross country team20 for winning the 2024 GHSA Class 6A State Cross Country Championship and extend best21 wishes for their continued success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Denmark High School boys cross country team.25 H.
