Senate Resolution 513

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Andrea L. Boone; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, a native of Atlanta and the daughter of two distinguished public servants, the2
late civil rights leader Rev. Joseph E. Boone and longtime Atlanta Public Schools educator3
Alethea W. Boone, Andrea L. Boone is currently serving her second term as a member of the4
Atlanta City Council, where she proudly represents the citizens of District 10; and5
WHEREAS, she has previously served the citizens of Atlanta through her work in the office6
of former Atlanta City Councilmember C.T. Martin, where she held the role of Chief of Staff7
and advanced initiatives supporting affordable housing, public safety, and youth8
empowerment throughout District 10; and9
WHEREAS, she further served for over seven years as the City of Atlanta Commissioner in10
the Mayor's Office of Constituent Services, collaborating with churches, senior centers,11
neighborhoods, businesses, and community stakeholders to ensure city leaders remained12
attentive to the needs of District 10; and13

WHEREAS, she has consistently advocated for collaboration betwe en the Atlanta Public14
School System, the City Council, and the Mayor's Office to prio ritize the needs of local15
neighborhoods and communities; and16
WHEREAS, her leadership has supported key citywide goals, inclu ding assisting in the17
successful hiring of 2,000 officers for the Atlanta Police Department and ensuring the city's18
budget has been balanced each year without increasing taxes; and19
WHEREAS, Andrea L. Boone's decades of service reflect a profoun d and unwavering20
dedication to the betterment of Atlanta, and her work continues to uplift and empower the21
residents of District 10; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25
recognize and commend Andrea L. Boone for her efficient, effect ive, unselfish, and26
dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for27
continued health and happiness.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Andrea L. Boone.30
