25 LC 112 3625 House Resolution 922 By: Representatives Roberts of the 52nd, Holland of the 54th, Panitch of the 51st, Tran of the 80th, Jackson of the 68th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending The Empowerment Workshop and its founder, Le'Dor Milteer; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 2022, Sandy Springs resident Le'Dor Milteer founded The Empowerment3 Workshop, a nonprofit organization committed to connecting our diverse communities4 through education and empowerment programs; and5 WHEREAS, The Empowerment Workship (TEW) and Le'Dor Milteer have demonstrated6 an unwavering commitment to equity and inclusion, striving to h elp everyone have an7 opportunity to shape their own futures; and8 WHEREAS, TEW places advocacy at the center of its mission, work ing to amplify the9 voices of marginalized groups, challenge systemic inequalities, and create lasting change10 through public policy and community action; and11 WHEREAS, TEW supports organizations and events designed to educate and empower our12 youth, small businesses, minority communities, and seniors; and13 H. R. 922 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3625 WHEREAS, TEW has organized and sponsored cultural events such a s Sandy Springs14 Juneteenth, the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival and Parade, Black History Month featuring Black15 artists, and International Women's Day Atlanta; and16 WHEREAS, the organization actively engages the Atlanta communit y by offering17 mentorship, skill-building programs, and access to vital resources, equipping people with the18 tools needed to build confidence, resilience, and leadership; and19 WHEREAS, TEW operates a Community Service and Volunteer Credit Hours Program,20 providing students and individual volunteers with the opportuni ty to gain hands-on21 experience at Mercedes-Benz Stadium while developing practical skills in teamwork,22 customer service, and event management; and23 WHEREAS, through its comprehensive and impactful programs, TEW continues to mobilize24 and inspire individuals across Atlanta, embodying the true spirit of community engagement25 and service; and26 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le organization be27 appropriately honored during this special time.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body commend The Empowerment Workshop and f ounder Le'Dor30 Milteer for their outstanding contributions to advocacy, empowe rment, and community31 development as well as extend best wishes for continued success.32 H.
