HR917: HR917 Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival; commend

25 LC 129 0468 House Resolution 917 By: Representatives Beckles of the 96th, Evans of the 57th, Adeyina of the 110th, McClain of the 109th, Clark of the 108th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival (WWR5K) is a3 Carribean Cultural 5k hosted in Piedmont Park, in Atlanta, on May 3, 2025; and4 WHEREAS, WWR5K promotes health by partnering with the Board of Health and other5 health organizations; and6 WHEREAS, the event shares Caribbean culture through a display o f art and talent from7 various islands; and8 WHEREAS, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to community organization Jam9 Across Georgia, an organization dedicated to women's mental hea lth, as well as another10 non-profit organization selected through raffle at the event; and11 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this extraordinary event be appropriately12 recognized.13 H. R. 917 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0468 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that14 the members of this body recognize and commend the Whine Walk Run 5K and International15 Food Festival for uplifting Caribbean culture in Georgia.16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized17 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the18 Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival.19 H.
