A RESOLUTION
Recognizing April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, children are vital to our state's future success, prosperity, and quality of life, as2
well as being our most vulnerable assets; and3
WHEREAS, all children deserve to have the safe, stable, and nur turing homes and4
communities they need to foster their healthy growth and development; and5
WHEREAS, child abuse and neglect is a community responsibility affecting both the current6
and future quality of life of a community; and7
WHEREAS, communities that provide parents with social support, knowledge of parenting8
and child development, and concrete resources needed to cope with stress and nurture their9
children ensure that all children grow to their full potential; and10
WHEREAS, effective child abuse prevention strategies succeed be cause of partnerships11
created among citizens, human service agencies, schools, faith communities, health care12
providers, civic organizations, law enforcement agencies, and the business community.13

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that14
the members of this body recognize April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month.15
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized16
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the17
public and the press.18
