25 LC 112 3608 House Resolution 994 By: Representatives Hilton of the 48th, Prince of the 132nd, Wade of the 9th, Gambill of the 15th, Dubnik of the 29th, and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Dixon Frederick Parker; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Dixon Frederick Parker on March 10, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Dixon Frederick Parker was born on November 15, 1967, a beloved son of4 Richard Parker and Mary Jewel Carlan Copeland; and5 WHEREAS, a graduate of Georgia Tech, he worked in the nuclear mechanical engineering6 field for over 30 years, earning a reputation for his exceptional intelligence and rare ability7 to solve even the most complex problems; and8 WHEREAS, he had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting, and he was a avid gun9 collector and skilled handyman who was always willing to share his time and talents with10 others, often with a trademark dose of dry wit; and11 WHEREAS, Dixon Frederick Parker was further known for his mastery behind the grill and12 in the kitchen, taking joy in preparing meals like steaks on th e Green Egg or homemade13 biscuits and gravy for his loved ones; and14 H. R. 994 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3608 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Marion, and was blessed with15 two remarkable daughters, Jessica and Elizabeth; and16 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern17 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his18 family and friends were admired by others; and19 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation20 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he21 made this world a better place in which to live; and22 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Dixon Frederick Park er will long be23 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who24 had the great fortune of knowing him.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Dixon Frederick Parker27 and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30 family of Dixon Frederick Parker.31 H.
