Not legal advice. version: Sen Floor Amend 1 AM 47 0204 version_id: amendment:2025-2026/hb1161/248303@248303 --- # Sen Floor Amend 1 AM 47 0204 to HB 1161 ADOPTED Senators Summers of the 13th, Robertson of the 29th, Albers of the 56th, Kemp of the 38th, Merritt of the 9th, and others offered the following amendment #1: Amend the Senate Committee on Public Safety substitute to HB 1161 (LC 63 0158S) by inserting before "to provide for related matters;" on line 9 the following: to prohibit the use of speed detection devices by municipal police departments on certain roadways; By inserting after line 134 the following: Said title is further amended in Code Section 40-14-8, relating to when case may be made and conviction had, by adding a new subsection to read as follows: "(a.1) No city officer shall be allowed to make a case based on the use of any speed detection device on any roadway within such city unless both sides of the right of way of such roadway extends more than 2 miles through the corporate limits of such city."
