House Bill 1186 (AS PASSED HOUSE AND SENATE) By: Representatives Stephens of the 164th, Gilliard of the 162nd, Hitchens of the 161st, Westbrook of the 163rd, and Jackson of the 165th A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To repeal an Act creating the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority, approved May 17, 2004 (Ga. L. 2004, p. 3983); to provide for the assets and liabilities thereof; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. An Act creating the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority, approved May 17, 2004 (Ga. L. 2004, p. 3983), is hereby repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2. Any and all assets of the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority shall devolve automatically and without further action to Garden City, Georgia, subject to any restrictions provided by law. The City Council of Garden City, Georgia, is authorized to execute any deeds or instruments of conveyance required to place title of such assets into the name of Garden City and is authorized to do so in the name of the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority. The obligations of the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority shall be transferred to and assumed by Garden City, Georgia, by such instruments as may be required to maintain the same. The City Council of Garden City, Georgia, is authorized to execute any such instruments required to transfer such obligations into the name of Garden City and is authorized to do so in the name of the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority. SECTION 3. All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
