A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

To amend an Act providing for the number of members and for the election of members of the Board of Education of Fulton County, approved February 10, 1984 (Ga. L. 1984, p. 3591), as amended, so as to change the date of election of the president of said board; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.

An Act providing for the number of members and for the election of members of the Board of Education of Fulton County, approved February 10, 1984 (Ga. L. 1984, p. 3591), as amended, is amended by revising subsection (a) of Section 4 as follows: "(a) The president of the Board of Education of Fulton County shall be elected from the membership of the board by a majority vote of the members. The president shall be elected at the first regular meeting of the board held during December of each even-numbered year and shall serve until a successor is elected by the board as herein provided."

SECTION 2.

This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2026.

SECTION 3.

All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
