A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Article 13 of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated,
relating to food service establishments, so as to require certain actions relating to food allergy
awareness in food service establishments; to require certain posting in staff areas; to provide
for the creation or approval by the Department of Public Health of such posting; to provide
for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
Article 13 of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
food service establishments, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:
<ins>"26-2-380.
(a) On and after January 1, 2027, each food service establishment shall display
prominently in the staff area of such establishment a poster relating to food allergy
awareness that includes information regarding the risk of an allergic reaction.
(b) No later than November 1, 2026, the Department of Public Health shall create or
approve a poster required to be displayed pursuant to subsection (a) of this Code section
and make such poster available on its website."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
