Not legal advice. version: Sen Floor Amend 1 AM 49 0267 version_id: amendment:2025-2026/hb268/238247@238247 --- # Sen Floor Amend 1 AM 49 0267 to HB 268 WITHDRAWN Senators Parent of the 44th and Jones II of the 22nd offered the following amendment #1: Amend the Senate Committee on Judiciary substitute to HB 268 (LC 49 2396S) by removing the quotation mark at the end of line 1015 and inserting between lines 1015 and 1016 the following: (j)(1) The Department of Education, in collaboration with the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, shall develop information and other resources regarding the safe storage of firearms. Such information and other resources shall be made available for use by local school systems and other public schools. (2) By July 1, 2026, each local board of education or public school governing body shall make the information and other resources provided for in paragraph (1) of this subsection available to the parents and guardians of all students enrolled in such local school system or public school and shall publish such information on the local school system or public school website."
