Senator Mallow of the 2nd offered the following amendment #3:
Amend the Senate Committee on Transportation substitute to HB 297 (LC 39 5123S):
By striking all language on lines 269 - 271 beginning with “is a” and ending with “purpose”
and inserting “is or has ever been involved, as a party or a subject, in any federal or state
litigation involving the federal Voting Rights Act, federal Civil Rights Act, or the federal or
state Constitution pursuant to any violation of a person or persons voting rights, the county
may initiate transit services upon approval from voters in a county-wide referendum called
for such purpose.”
