# Sen Floor Amend 2 to HB 521

Senator Hatchett of the 50th and Brass of the 6th offered the following amendment #2:
Amend the Senate Committee on State and Local Governmental Operations - General
substitute to HB 521 (LC 62 0521S):
by striking lines 109-136 and replacing with:
“SECTION 3.
Said chapter is further amended in Article 1 of Chapter 36 of Title 36 of the Official Code
of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provision for annexation of territory, is amended
by adding a new Code section to read as follows:
<ins>‘36-36-12.
</ins> Not withstanding any other provisions of this chapter to the contrary, any proposed
annexation pursuant to Article 2, 3, or 4 of this chapter is contingent upon the adoption of
a resolution by the governing authority of the county in which such property is located
consenting to such annexation.’
And by making conforming changes to the numbering of subsequent Sections.”
