The Senate Committee on Insurance and Labor offered the following substitute to HB 87: A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to insurance, so as to provide for the disclosure of certain items in declarations pages and premium billing notices; to provide for transparency with regard to deductibles, premiums, premium taxes, fees, charges, and surcharges; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date and applicability; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: SECTION 1. Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to insurance, is amended in Chapter 24, relating to insurance generally, by adding a new Code section to read as follows: "33-24-14.2. The declarations page and premium billing notice for any policy issued, delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this state shall clearly indicate: (1) The policy deductible as a dollar amount and percentage; (2) The premium as an annual amount; (3) The state insurance premium tax as a dollar amount and a percentage; (4) The county and municipal corporation taxes on insurance companies as a dollar amount and a percentage; and (5) Any fees, charges, or surcharges." SECTION 2. This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2027, and shall apply to all insurance policies issued, delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this state on or after such date. SECTION 3. All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
