A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 20-2-771 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
immunization of students, so as to require schools and child care facilities to provide
information regarding immunization requirements and exemptions from such requirements
to parents and guardians; to provide for an effective date and applicability; to provide for
related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
Code Section 20-2-771 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to immunization
of students, is amended by adding a new subsection to read as follows:
<ins>"(i) Each school and facility shall provide the parents and guardians of each student
information regarding each immunization required by the Department of Public Health in
accordance with this Code section and exemptions from such requirements. The
information regarding exemptions shall be provided in the same manner and format as the
information regarding immunization requirements and shall include information on how
parents and guardians may complete the affidavit provided for in subsection (e) of this
Code section."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2026, and shall apply beginning with the
2026-2027 school year.
SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
