## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A House resolution formally notifies the Georgia Senate that the House of Representatives has convened and is ready to conduct business for the 2025-2026 session.

### Plain-language summary

This is a routine procedural resolution used at the start of each Georgia General Assembly session. It does not change any law or create any new rights or requirements for Georgians. Instead, it directs the Clerk of the House to send official notice to the Senate that the House of Representatives has convened in regular session and is ready to begin its legislative work.
Resolutions like this one are a standard part of how the two chambers coordinate the opening of a session, confirming to each other that both are operational before substantive lawmaking begins.

### What it does

- Instructs the Clerk of the House to formally notify the Georgia Senate that the House has convened in regular session.
- Declares the House of Representatives ready for the transaction of legislative business for the session.
- Creates no new law, funding, or requirements affecting the public.

### Who it affects

This resolution mainly affects the internal operations of the Georgia General Assembly, specifically the Clerk of the House and the Senate, who receive formal notice that the House is in session. It has no direct effect on the general public.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no practical impact on everyday life for Georgians. It simply marks the formal, ceremonial start of the House's legislative work for the session, allowing the House and Senate to proceed with official business.

### Key provisions

- The resolution directs the Clerk of the House to notify the Senate that the House has convened in regular session.
- It states the House is ready for the transaction of business, a standard procedural declaration at the opening of a session.
