WHEREAS, the Seminole County Youth Poll Worker Initiative, in partnership with Seminole County Middle High School, is an innovative initiative that gives students hands on exercise in civics and government as well as valuable experience and understanding of our election and polling systems; and WHEREAS, student volunteers participated in the same training as poll worker staff, becoming certified and working alongside regular poll workers, while exhibiting the highest degree of professionalism throughout 19 days of Advanced In Person and election day poll work; and WHEREAS, the exemplary team of volunteer students includes Christian Albritton, Mackenzie Brown, Courtney Cannon, Marianna Christian, Jada Coachman, Jayla Coachman, Emma Godby, Jolie Grand, Ven’teria McLeroy, Milan Richardson, and Ava Thompson; and WHEREAS, the success of the Seminole County Youth Poll Worker Initiative was made possible by the passionate leadership of Elections Supervisor Ronald D. Foskey, Elections Clerk Michael Rogerson, Principal Mary Jean Albritton, and Social Studies Teacher Peggy Thompson; and WHEREAS, the Seminole County Youth Poll Worker Initiative represents innovation, collaboration, and a strong sense of public service, serving as a model of active citizenship and student leadership.
