By: Representatives Sharper of the 177th and Bell of the 75th
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and legacy of Naomie Delva; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Naomie Delva on January 5,2026; and
WHEREAS, Naomie Delva was a woman of vision, character, and purpose whose life was
marked by service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others; and
WHEREAS, throughout her life, Naomie Delva exemplified excellence in entrepreneurship,
community development, and mentorship, using her gifts and talents to empower individuals,
families, and small businesses; and
WHEREAS, she was widely respected for her integrity, compassion, and work ethic, and she
consistently sought to create opportunities for economic growth, education, and positive
social impact; and
WHEREAS, Naomie Delva’s influence extended far beyond her professional
accomplishments, as she was a source of encouragement, wisdom, and inspiration to
colleagues, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her; and
WHEREAS, her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched, the initiatives
she helped build, and the enduring example she set of faith, perseverance, and service; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Georgia House of Representatives pause to
recognize and honor the life of this remarkable individual and to extend heartfelt sympathy
to her family, loved ones, and all who mourn her passing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body honor the life, achievements, and lasting legacy on Naomie Delva
as well as commend her memory to be cherished by all who were inspired by her life.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
family of Naomie Delva.
