By: Representatives Byrd of the 20th, Fincher of the 23rd, Jasperse of the 11th, Ridley of the
22nd, and Scoggins of the 14th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Rick Roberts on his outstanding public service as the Mayor
of Ball Ground; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Rick Roberts has long been recognized by the citizens of Ball Ground, Georgia,
for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the
welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced
dramatically by his superlative service as the mayor of Ball Ground; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership the city has flourished; initiatives including the addition
of a public library in the downtown area, expansion of the citywide water capacity and
sanitary sewer systems, and construction of both a new city hall and elementary school will
leave a lasting impact on the area; and
WHEREAS, Rick Roberts' significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable
patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of
Ball Ground have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates;
and
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high
ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom
which only comes through experience and the strength of character achieved through
overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, Rick Roberts has served with honor and distinction as the Mayor of Ball
Ground, and his vision and unyielding commitment to excellence will be sorely missed upon
his retirement; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Rick Roberts for his efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate him upon the
grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued
health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Rick
Roberts.
