House Resolution 106

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Trail Life USA; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Trail Life USA partners with churches to provide a Christ centered outdoor adventure with an emphasis on character development and leadership to boys and young men in 49 states and connects boys with friends, dads, and godly mentors in a safe, unapologetically Christian environment; and

WHEREAS, the organization's mission is to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure; and

WHEREAS, its motto is to walk worthy and is inspired by Colossians 1:10; its oath states, "on my honor, I will do my best to serve God and my country; to respect authority; to be a good steward of creation; and to treat others as I want to be treated"; and

WHEREAS, Trail Life USA's robust awards program culminates with the esteemed Freedom Award, which is already gaining recognition with Christian colleges and universities as a symbol of high character, leadership experience, and skills; and

WHEREAS, there are more than 35,869 trailmen and 1,133 troops in the United States, including 2,271 trailmen and 57 troops in Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Trail Life USA actively pursues a praiseworthy mission for spiritual and character development of youth through Christ centered programming, and in doing so is laying the foundation for the success of future generations; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding achievements of this extraordinary organization be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Trail Life USA for its tireless efforts in shaping the youth of Georgia and the United States and wish them continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Trail Life USA.
