House Resolution 1067 By: Representatives Douglas of the 78th, Miller of the 62nd, Kendrick of the 95th, Hugley of the 141st, Alexander of the 66th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing January and August 2026 as Neurotherapy Month; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, neurotherapy, including modalities such as biofeedback, neurofeedback, quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG), and psychophysiological assessments, constitutes a scientifically grounded, non-invasive, and drug-free approach to supporting mental, emotional, cognitive, and neurological health; and WHEREAS, biofeedback and neurofeedback are evidence-based modalities recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), and the International Society for Neuroregulation & Research (ISNR) with clinical applications for anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, sleep disorders, substance use, epilepsy, learning disabilities, and more; and WHEREAS, thousands of Georgians, particularly veterans, children, adolescents, and individuals with neurological or emotional disorders, stand to benefit from increased access to neurotherapy and neuroregulation services that support nervous system resilience and self-regulation; and WHEREAS, neurotherapy can help optimize both sports performance and leadership capabilities, with varied effectiveness between individuals and contexts; and WHEREAS, neurotherapy training helps athletes regulate their brain activity to improve focus, reduce anxiety, and more consistently enter flow states; and WHEREAS, top athletes such as Olympic shooters, elite gymnasts, and even NFL teams have used neurofeedback for peak mental performance; and WHEREAS, in leadership and executive performance, neurotherapy can sharpen cognitive and emotional skills that are key to effective decision-making, executive function, creative thinking, and interpersonal effectiveness; and WHEREAS, Georgia is home to a growing network of interdisciplinary clinics, licensed mental health professionals, certified neurofeedback providers, and academic researchers advancing the field of psychophysiology and integrative neurotherapy; and WHEREAS, neurotherapy is particularly impactful in underserved and rural communities where access to psychiatric medications or traditional mental health services may be limited, offering a safe, cost-effective complement or alternative to conventional approaches; and WHEREAS, promoting Neurotherapy Month during August and January serves to raise awareness, encourage preventative and rehabilitative brain health practices, and support ongoing discussions around integrative, data-driven, and accessible mental health care. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize January and August 2026 are recognized as Neurotherapy Month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
