## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends Dr. Twiggy L. Harris, MD, a Kaiser Permanente physician, for her medical career and service, without changing any state law.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a law that changes anyone's rights or responsibilities. It recognizes Dr. Twiggy L. Harris, MD, an Emory University graduate who works as an employee health physician and sales and marketing ambassador for Kaiser Permanente in Georgia. The resolution highlights her specialty in internal medicine, with a focus on preventive care for diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal conditions, and praises her professional reputation and performance.
The resolution's operative effect is limited to two things: the House formally commends Dr. Harris and wishes her continued health and success, and it directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to her. It does not appropriate funds, create programs, or alter any Georgia statute.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Dr. Twiggy L. Harris, MD, on behalf of the Georgia House of Representatives.
- Extends the House's official best wishes to Dr. Harris for her continued health, happiness, and success.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Dr. Harris.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory change; it is a ceremonial statement rather than legislation altering the Official Code of Georgia.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Dr. Twiggy L. Harris, MD, a Kaiser Permanente employee health physician in Georgia. It also involves the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who is tasked with preparing and distributing a copy of the resolution to her.

### Why it matters

This resolution has no legal or regulatory effect on Georgians generally. Its practical significance is symbolic: it gives Dr. Harris formal public recognition from the state legislature for her medical career, which may be used personally or professionally but changes nothing about how medicine is practiced or regulated in Georgia.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe Dr. Harris's education at Emory University and her roles at Kaiser Permanente as an employee health physician and marketing ambassador.
- The whereas clauses note her recognition as a top clinical performer and her specialty in internal medicine focused on diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal conditions.
- The first resolving clause formally commends Dr. Harris and wishes her continued health, happiness, and success.
- The final resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy available for distribution to Dr. Harris.
