House Resolution 1077
By: Representatives McDonald III of the 26th, Cox of the 28th, Jasperse of the 11th, Jones of
the 25th, and Barrett of the 24th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Steve Miller; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Steve Miller has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital
role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the education of
the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced
dramatically by his over 30 years of service to public education; and
WHEREAS, Steve began his esteemed career teaching at Fair Street Elementary School,
where he quickly discovered his love for public education; and
WHEREAS, over the next three decades, Steve held prestigious positions including assistant
principal at Gainesville Middle School, assistant principal and principal at Buford High
School, principal of Mashburn Elementary School, and principal of Otwell Middle School;
and
WHEREAS, under his guiding hand, Otwell Middle School was named Best Middle School
of the Year by the Best of Forsyth for multiple years in a row; and
WHEREAS, his outstanding leadership has been recognized by many awards and honors
such as Forsyth’s Best Schools Administrator of the Year and Georgia Thespian
Administrator of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller retired from Forsyth County Schools in May of 2025, and now
serves as Dean of Students at the Marist School; and
WHEREAS, Steve Miller, his wife of 32 years, Tammy, and their 12 children are proud
members of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and are pillars in the Forsyth County
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Steve Miller for his efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere
best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Steve
Miller.
