House Resolution 1119 By: Representatives Clark of the 100th, Reeves of the 99th, Hilton of the 48th, Hong of the 103rd, and Donatucci of the 105th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Joshua Gerard Cardiello; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Joshua Gerard Cardiello on January 5, 2026; and WHEREAS, Joshua Gerard Cardiello was born on March 24, 1995, a beloved son, brother, husband, and father; and WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Joshua Gerard Cardiello was an active member of Gwinnett Church and North Point Community Church; and WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Allison, and was blessed and proud to be the father of a remarkable daughter, Amelia; and WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his strength, loyalty, generosity of spirit, and deep love for family, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and WHEREAS, Joshua Gerard Cardiello was a passionate advocate for youth heart screening to help prevent sudden cardiac arrest, and played an instrumental role in establishing a partnership with the organization Who We Play For, to provide free heart screening in Gwinnett County, where Joshua and his brother both attended high school; and WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he made this world a better place in which to live; and WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Joshua Gerard Cardiello will long be remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing him. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Joshua Gerard Cardiello and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Joshua Gerard Cardiello.
