A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Ron Zirpoli; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Ron Zirpoli will be celebrating his 75th birthday on January 24, 2026; and
WHEREAS, in the past 75 years, he has traveled to no fewer than 83 countries, including
New Guinea, Iran, North Korea, Mongolia, Myanmar, Uganda, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Fiji, Nepal,
China, Japan, Cuba, the USSR, India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Gaza, Eqypt, Tanzania,
Venezuela, chile, Nigeria, El Salvador, Tibet, Kenya, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, and New
Zealand among many others; and
WHEREAS, through his travels Ron Zirpoli has had the privilege to obtain a vast cultural
understanding and global awareness as well as work as a travel photographer documenting
human rights violations, civil wars, and natural wonders of the world, including Everest Base
Camp; and
WHEREAS, he has steadfastly supported and advocated for numerous political campaigns,
lending his voice, resources, and remarkable leadership abilities to members of state and
national congress, mayors, city council members, and presidential candidates across the
United States; and
WHEREAS, in the state of Georgia Ron Zirpoli was involved in the campaigns of Atlanta
Mayor Shirley Franklin; the first black Mayor of Macon, Jack Ellis; Atlanta Mayor Andrew
Young; several Atlanta City Council Members; and Georgia Representative Park Cannon;
and
WHEREAS, in addition to supporting political campaigns, Ron Zirpoli has tirelessly helped
to organize countless community events, built coalitions, participated in grassroots
organizations, protested, photographed, and strengthened community engagement across
Philadelphia, Baltimore, Cleveland, the state of Georgia, and abroad; and
WHEREAS, he has witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of his lifetime
and we salute his contribution to its progress by his own hard work and good citizenship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Ron Zirpoli, congratulate him on the
remarkable occasion of his 75th birthday, and extend their most sincere best wishes for
continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ron
Zirpoli.
