House Resolution 1127 By: Representatives Herring of the 145th, Jones of the 143rd, Paris of the 142nd, Washburn of the 144th, and Griffin of the 149th A RESOLUTION Commending the Middle Georgia State University School of Aviation for its excellence in aerospace education, its record-breaking growth, and its vital role in fueling the aviation workforce of Georgia; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Middle Georgia State University School of Aviation stands as Georgia’s flagship aviation school, offering the state's only four-year flight and airport management degree programs and serving as a critical pipeline for the aerospace industry; and WHEREAS, demonstrating remarkable growth and demand, the School of Aviation has been a driving force behind Middle Georgia State University reaching a historic enrollment record of 8,828 students in the Fall of 2025, marking the institution's eighth consecutive semester of growth; and WHEREAS, the school continues to solidify its status as a premier aviation training center, boasting a fleet of over 50 state-of-the-art aircraft and earning distinction as the first program in Georgia to be recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Enhanced Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) school; and WHEREAS, the School of Aviation has forged powerful industry partnerships to ensure student success, most notably through its enduring collaboration with Delta Air Lines via the Propel Pilot Career Path and Delta TechOps, which provide students with defined pathways to careers with one of the world’s leading airlines; and WHEREAS, in June 2025, the university further strengthened its community ties by launching a new partnership with the Museum of Aviation Foundation to enhance educational outreach and innovation, ensuring the legacy of aviation in Warner Robins continues to inspire future generations; and WHEREAS, the efficacy of its workforce training is evidenced by the Aircraft Structural Technology program, which celebrated a 100 percent employment rate for its Spring 2024 graduates at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, directly supporting our nation's defense capabilities; and WHEREAS, the school’s commitment to academic excellence was highlighted at the 2025 Honors Convocation, where students such as Logan Brown and Ryan Lusco were recognized for their outstanding achievements in Aviation Science and Management, setting a high standard for their peers; and WHEREAS, under the guidance of its dedicated faculty and leadership, the School of Aviation recently secured a significant National Science Foundation grant to align classroom learning with professional workforce needs, ensuring that graduates are equipped with cutting-edge skills for the modern aviation landscape. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize University President Dr. Christopher Blake; Adon Clark, the Dean of the School of Aviation; and the entire faculty and staff for their vision and dedication that have established the school as a beacon of opportunity in Middle Georgia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Middle Georgia State University School of Aviation.
