A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Georgia Asian American and Pacific Islander Hub; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Georgia Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Hub is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that was founded by Victoria Huynh on October 5, 2022, with strong encouragement and support from national and local donors, partners, and community leaders; and
WHEREAS, the Georgia AAPI Hub's mission is to strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem and advance the social, cultural, political, and economic well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities throughout Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the organization focuses on building infrastructure for rapid community response, enhancing nonprofit capacity, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving engagement and advocacy within Georgia's AAPI communities; and
WHEREAS, in less than three years, the Georgia AAPI Hub has formed key partnerships, secured funding, and mobilized communities through census coalition convenings, March 16th Day of Remembrance events, community focus groups and listing sessions, community round-tables with White House officials, AAPI nonprofit forums and economic summits, and the creation of the AAPI Civic Engagement Coalition; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, the Georgia AAPI Hub has supported over 22 AAPI nonprofits across Georgia, successfully helping to secure nearly $560,000 in national, corporate, local, and foundation grant funding to strengthen these organizations; and
WHEREAS, in July 2024, the AAPI Hub made its national debut as a partner and grantee of APIA Vote, broadening its capacity to advance nonpartisan voter engagement; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary organization be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the Georgia Asian American and Pacific Islander Hub for its many outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of this state and extend best wishes for its continued growth and success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Asian American and Pacific Islander Hub.
