House Resolution 1135 By: Representatives Mitchell of the 88th, Davis of the 87th, Holcomb of the 101st, Drenner of the 85th, and Barnes of the 86th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and honoring the City of Tucker, Georgia, on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the City of Tucker, Georgia, was officially incorporated on November 3, 2015, following approval by referendum of its residents, thereby becoming one of the newest municipalities in DeKalb County and the State of Georgia; and WHEREAS, since its incorporation, the City of Tucker has embodied the principles of local self-governance, civic engagement, and responsible stewardship, reflecting the determination and vision of its citizens; and WHEREAS, the City of Tucker is grounded in a rich history of commerce, transportation, faith communities, and civic involvement and has built upon that legacy to promote economic development, enhance public safety, improve infrastructure, and expand recreational and cultural opportunities; and WHEREAS, during its first decade, the City of Tucker has demonstrated steady progress through thoughtful planning, collaborative leadership, and a continued commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents while preserving the character of its neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, the success of the City of Tucker is due in large measure to the dedicated service of its mayor and city council, past and present, city staff, volunteers, business leaders, and engaged residents who have worked collectively to advance the city's growth and prosperity; and WHEREAS, the 10th anniversary of the City of Tucker provides a fitting opportunity to recognize its accomplishments, commend its leadership and citizens, and acknowledge its contributions to DeKalb County and the state of Georgia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and honor the City of Tucker, Georgia, on the occasion of its 10th anniversary and extend best wishes for continued success, progress, and service to its citizens. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the officials of the City of Tucker.
