A RESOLUTION

Recognizing February 11, 2026, as Albany-Dougherty County Day at the capitol, commending the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, and inviting community partners and leadership to be recognized by the Georgia House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Albany-Dougherty County and the Albany Area play a vital and ever-expanding role in establishing and maintaining Georgia as the number one state in the country for business; and

WHEREAS, Albany-Dougherty County is known for its innovative small businesses; Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany; global industries including Procter & Gamble, Molson Coors, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Georgia Pacific, Thrush Aircraft and ThermaCare; attractions and growing tourism industry; outdoor recreational opportunities; natural resources; world-class healthcare at the Phoebe Putney Health System; as well as its educational institutions; and

WHEREAS, The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce represents and advances the interests of the business community with distinction, convenes the talents and resources of strategic and governmental partners for the benefit of the community and region, leads the efforts to create a business climate that is conducive to economic growth and prosperity, and in the aftermath of natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic, played a key role in supporting, protecting and enhancing the quality of life and commercial vitality of the Albany Area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize February 11, 2026, as Albany-Dougherty County Day at the capitol, congratulate the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce on 116 years of excellence serving the economic hub of Southwest Georgia and advocating for the Albany Area's interests, and invite its community leadership and partners to be recognized by the House of Representatives.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.
