A RESOLUTION
Commending The Links, Incorporated, and recognizing February 2, 2026, as the Georgia Links Day at the capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated, founded in 1946, is an international, not-for-profit corporation and one of the nation's oldest and largest volunteer service organizations, promoting the heritage and advancement of African Americans and other people of African ancestry; and
WHEREAS, for decades, this esteemed organization has nurtured and embodied the values that bind us– friendship, integrity, honesty, courage, commitment, respect, legacy, and accountability– lighting the way for generations to come; and
WHEREAS, its members are architects of hope, leaders of action, mentors of promise, and champions of change, whose tireless efforts transform communities and uplift lives with grace, wisdom, and unwavering purpose; and
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated, contributes more than one million hours of service each year, weaving a tapestry of care that strengthens families, enriches neighborhoods, and inspires the nation; and
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chapter has been a luminous force in metropolitan Atlanta, lifting hearts and minds through community service, charitable giving, and devoted volunteer leadership; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Atlanta Chapter is to cultivate transformational change, empowering underserved populations, particularly African Americans, by bridging gaps in education, health, economic opportunity, and the arts, turning challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality; and
WHEREAS, in 2026, The Links, Incorporated, boldly embraces the theme "Empowering Change Through Advocacy & Service," a powerful expression of the unwavering commitment to purposeful leadership harnessing the collective voice to create a lasting impact at the local, state, national, and global levels.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body celebrate and commend The Links, Incorporated, for its boundless devotion and visionary leadership, as well as proudly recognize February 2, 2026, as Georgia Links Day at the capitol, honoring a legacy of service, empowerment, and transformative impact.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The Links, Incorporated.
