## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends the WSB-TV Meteorology Team for its public service during Georgia Severe Weather Preparation Week, recognizing its role in weather forecasting and public safety education.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a ceremonial statement from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring the WSB-TV Meteorology Team. It does not change any Georgia law or create any new program. Instead, it recognizes the team's forecasting work and public education efforts around severe weather such as tornadoes, floods, thunderstorms, and extreme heat, tying the honor to Georgia Severe Weather Preparation Week.
The resolution states that the House commends the team for its contributions to public safety and preparedness, and it directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for the WSB-TV Meteorology Team. It has no funding, penalties, or enforcement provisions.

### What it does

- Formally commends and recognizes the WSB-TV Meteorology Team for public service during Georgia Severe Weather Preparation Week.
- States the team's role in forecasting, public education, and partnership with emergency management agencies without creating any new legal requirement.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the WSB-TV Meteorology Team.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names the WSB-TV Meteorology Team as the honoree. It also references state and local emergency management agencies and first responders as partners the team works with, though it imposes no obligations on them.

### Why it matters

This is a symbolic honor rather than a policy change, so it does not alter any Georgian's rights, duties, or funding. Its practical effect is limited to formal recognition and a commemorative copy given to the WSB-TV Meteorology Team.

### Key provisions

- The resolving clause commends the WSB-TV Meteorology Team for outstanding contributions to public safety and preparedness in honor of Georgia Severe Weather Preparation Week.
- The final clause directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the team.
- The whereas clauses describe Georgia Severe Weather Preparation Week and the team's forecasting, education, and community outreach work as background, not binding law.
