A RESOLUTION
Commending the Coweta Cattlemen Association of Coweta County; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Coweta Cattlemen Association, headquartered in Newnan, Coweta County,
Georgia, was established in 1949 and has long stood as a pillar of leadership, service, and
stewardship within Georgia’s agricultural community; and
WHEREAS, the Coweta Cattlemen Association is widely recognized as the oldest
continuously active cattlemen’s association chapter in the State of Georgia, representing
generations of cattle producers who have worked diligently to strengthen and advance the
beef cattle industry; and
WHEREAS, in 2026, the Coweta Cattlemen Association will celebrate its 77th anniversary,
marking more than seven decades of dedicated service to agriculture, rural families, and the
cattle industry in Coweta County and throughout the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, the Coweta Cattlemen Association has played a vital role in
promoting best management practices, animal health, land stewardship, and beef quality
assurance, while preserving the proud agricultural heritage of Coweta County and the State
of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the association has demonstrated an enduring commitment to education, youth
development, and leadership through support of agricultural education programs, youth
livestock activities, and community engagement initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Coweta Cattlemen Association has served as a strong advocate for farmers
and ranchers, helping ensure that agriculture remains a foundational and respected
component of Georgia’s economy and rural way of life; and
WHEREAS, the continued success and longevity of the Coweta Cattlemen Association
stands as a testament to the dedication, integrity, and hard work of its members–past and
present–who have faithfully served their communities and the agricultural industry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body do hereby commend the Coweta Cattlemen Association of
Newnan, Coweta County, and honor its distinction as the oldest continuously active
cattlemen’s association chapter in the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives extends its sincere
appreciation and the best wishes to the Coweta Cattlemen Association and its members for
continued success in their mission to support agriculture, strengthen rural communities, and
preserve Georgia’s farming heritage for generations to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the
Coweta Cattlemen Association.
