## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution honors the nonprofit Lifting Our Voices, Inc. and designates February 28, 2026 as LOV Day in recognition of its charitable work across the state.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives rather than a bill that changes state law. It honors Lifting Our Voices, Inc. (LOV), a nonprofit founded by Morehouse College graduate Noah McQueen that works to address food insecurity, youth empowerment, and voter registration in underserved communities.
The resolution recites LOV's accomplishments, including distributing more than 80,000 meals across eight cities, registering more than 450 voters over two election cycles, and collecting and distributing more than 15,000 clothing and toiletry items. It formally designates February 28, 2026 as LOV Day and directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to send a copy of the resolution to the organization. It does not create any new legal requirements, funding, or penalties.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes February 28, 2026 as LOV Day in Georgia through a House resolution.
- Honors Lifting Our Voices, Inc. for its charitable work addressing food insecurity, youth empowerment, and voter registration.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and send a copy of the resolution to the organization.
- Creates no new laws, funding, or legal obligations, since it is a ceremonial resolution rather than a bill.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Lifting Our Voices, Inc. and its founder Noah McQueen. It also references the communities the nonprofit serves, including people facing food insecurity, youth in the Atlanta University Center area, and voters the organization has helped register.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial effect but gives official state recognition to a nonprofit's community work, which can raise its public profile and mark February 28, 2026 as a symbolic day of appreciation for its efforts in Georgia.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe LOV's mission, founder, and specific outcomes such as meals distributed and voters registered.
- The resolving clause states the House honors LOV and recognizes February 28, 2026 as LOV Day.
- A further resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Lifting Our Voices, Inc.
