A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the work and leadership of Noah McQueen; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Noah McQueen is the founder and CEO of Lifting Our Voices, Inc., (LOV) a non-profit organization with the goal of combating social and economic issues in Georgia's most vulnerable populations; and

WHEREAS, a first generation college student and Morehouse College graduate, Noah McQueen found LOV with a mission to uplift and empower communities through love, service, and leadership; and

WHEREAS, under Noah’s leadership, LOV has grown from a student-led initiative into a multi-state movement tackling food insecurity and empowering youth through programs like the AUC Sandwich Run, toiletry drives, Cover the Hood Clothing Drive, and voter registration efforts; and

WHEREAS, Noah is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and has served with numerous prestigious events and organizations including the Congressional Black Caucus Phoenix Award Dinner, the 2016 Democratic National Convention, Prince George's Juvenile Justice Reunification Ceremony, and the Obama Oral History Project at the Columbia Center for Oral History; and

WHEREAS, his passionate and dedicated leadership has earned him the respect and admiration of all who know him as well as awards and recognition from Google, HBCU Buzz, The Pinky Cole Foundation, The Black Enterprise, and Historically Black Since; and

WHEREAS, Noah is an inducted member of The Emerging 100 of Atlanta, the Global Shapers, and an inaugural member of Georgia Tech’s Workforce for Tomorrow Fellowship; and

WHEREAS, as a professional, Noah has worked with the Atlanta Beltline, Microsoft Philanthropic Division, Apple’s Propel Center, and Deloitte Consulting firm; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable gentleman are appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize the work and leadership of Noah McQueen and extend their since best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Noah McQueen.
