A RESOLUTION

Commending the Emergency Management Association of Georgia and recognizing February 26, 2026, as Emergency Management Association Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Association of Georgia is an association of professionals serving its members by promoting professional development, providing networking opportunities, and serving as an advocate for the profession of emergency management; and

WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Association of Georgia prides itself on being an association that demonstrates professionalism, integrity, respect, and teamwork and holds these values to the core of the organization; and

WHEREAS, the association's three major goals are to assist members in their efforts to save lives and protect property from the effects of disasters, to provide a forum for professionals to discuss current issues in the emergency management field, and to serve as a policy advisory board both to local emergency management agencies and to the State of Georgia Emergency Management Agency; and

WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Association of Georgia is an integral part of the complex system of emergency management that provides for the safety and security of Georgian citizens.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Emergency Management Association of Georgia and recognize February 26, 2026, as Emergency Management Association Day at the state capitol.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Emergency Management Association of Georgia.
